Since this lake is up near the mountains, it is always frozen over. There are fish in it, but you can't reach them because of the thick 5 inch barrier of ice. Some caribou wander down to the lake occasionally, and they have to break the ice in order to reach the water to drink. You might be lucky enough to happen upon an arctic hare, too. The lake is surrounded by a wall of woods, where the caribou tend to dwell.
